Local Gov. embraces the benefits of the Sublime MobileHub

The stereotype is an all too familiar one; the private sector is lean, mean and nimble whilst the public sector is big, slow and habitually clumsy. It’s always been the same – the private sector leads, the public sector follows. Right?

Not so. Thanks to the efforts of the Sublime mobile business design team and our pioneering MobileHub service, one inventive ‘council cluster’ in NSW is breaking new ground at the local government level – by rethinking the way in which they tackle the challenges and constraints of their organisations.

Like so many public sector institutions, local governments are burdened by a reliance on hard copy documents. The need to archive everything means big issues with storage and the costs that go with it. Sharing documents too is problematic – multiple copies to large stakeholder groups create issues around security and as you can imagine, huge levels of waste
— Simon Torsellini, Sublime Software

For local councils this is a reality they have had to live with everyday and one that does nothing to improve the productivity of their resources or effectiveness of their business processes.

Cue Sublime's new Sales & Content Enablement Hub service and new dawn for local government efficiency and productivity. We asked Andrew Jones from Eurobodalla Shire Council to shed’s some light on how MobileHub helped his team tackle the challenges that for so long hampered their efforts to get ahead.

Working with Sublime has been very productive and from day one. The team have always been willing to go the extra step. The main benefits for us are the timelessness in which the end users receive documents, the related security within the application, ease of reading documents, and the notation functionality…all proved to be important features to have.
— Andrew Jones, Eurobodalla Shire Council

At Sublime we understand the challenges faced by local government and they, in turn trust us to help them overcome them. Our success in NSW now finds us on the ground and busy in Canberra where Sublime is helping all levels of government to work better.
